The latest ban includeing 118 apps mostly related to china, with PUBG Mobileand PUBG Mobile Lite standing out in the list on top as compared to popularity. PUBG Mobile is the most played mobile game in India by some margin, and it has well over 50 million monthly active players. While the desktop version of the game is made by South Korea’s Bluehole, the mobile game is developed by Tencent Games as per official.
The government body officially stated that these apps included in the list were engaged in activities that were not safe for India threat to our National Security. The agency also stated that these apps were stealing the user data and transmit it to outside India without the user permission.

1. A teenager in Punjab spent Rs. 16 lakhs from his parents’ bank accounts on PUBG Mobile earlier this year, to upgrade his character in the game. One mote teenager that is also in Punjab used his grandfather’s Paytm account to spend Rs. 2 lakh in the game.
2. The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association had asked the governor of the state to ban PUBG due to the poor 10th and 12th board results.
3. The game also included a feature that was rolled back because it was alleged that it hurt the religious sentiments of some players, in June this year.
4. There have also been news reports alleging that the game has caused violence and blaming PUBG addition for violent acts in the last year or two.
Now that it has been banned by the government, people are also looking to find alternatives to the game that should be made by indian developers and all operations handled in India.
